Poster for Shillington School of Graphic Design

Here's a nice little campaign for a graphic design school. I love hand drawn type - particularly depictions of familiar typefaces - and the Comic Sans repetition is worth a small chuckle to get your day going.

A Harvey Nichols Christmas 2011 - Ever faced the Walk of Shame?

Forget the saccharine-sweet John Lewis Xmas ad, I think a fair few of us might have much more in common with this Walk of Shame ad from Harvey Nichols.

World Leader Porn: Benetton wants the world to UNHATE

US President Barack Obama and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela

A new campaign from Benetton recalls the brand's controversial heyday. A series of posters features world leaders with lips locked to launch the UNHATE project

Benetton, says the accompanying press material, is inviting "the leaders and citizens of the world to combat the 'culture of hatred'". The UNHATE campaign is the first initiative from a new Benetton foundation of the same name, launched by Alessandro Benetton, executive deputy chairman of the Benetton Group.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy

A series of posters, created by Benetton's 'research communication centre' Fabrica, features political and spiritual leaders kissing (shown above, The Pope and Ahmed Mohamed el-Tayeb, Imam of the Al-Azhar mosque in Cairo. Below, US President Barack Obama and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela)

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

According to Benetton "These are symbolic images of reconciliation - with a touch of ironic hope and constructive provocation - to stimulate reflection on how politics, faith and ideas, even when they are divergent and mutually opposed, must still lead to dialogue and mediation."

Hu Jintao, president of China and U.S. President Barack Obama

North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Il and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak

Additional social media activity includes the Kiss Wall where users can upload images of themselves kissing.

BA's latest ad: "To Fly. To Serve"

An industry email has just lead me to BA's latest ad, and my G-d they've pumped the pounds into this one. They're riding high with this "To fly. To serve" line and in my mind a bit too soon after the strikes for this type of ad campaign. 'To Fly, To Strike' is ringing through my head.

Additionally I dislike the gender stereotyping of male pilots and the way they've erased early female aviators from history. I do like flying BA but it's embarrassing that a major airline can still be so sexist.

A departure from T-Mobile's previous flash-mob style adverts, but just as good...

Evian Baby Inside

Evian has followed up its "roller babies" ad with a new spot that flips adults into dancing babies.

BETC Euro RSCG's "Baby Inside" ad uses a series of images of people wearing t-shirts that have an image of a baby's body on the front, from the neck down.

The images are shown in quick succession, resembling a flipbook, to animate images and make them appear as though the baby images are dancing.

The “Live Young” strapline, strengthens the message of the Rollerbabies film by symbolising the effect of Evian on the bodies of adults of all ages.

A Pot Noeldle Christmas - by Pot Noodle

Bloody brilliant Xmas ad by AKQA that mocks the schmaltz of most of the seasonal ads out there, offering a more down-to-earth, and particularly UK-based Xmas experience... beautifully observed and genuinely funny.

Ikea ads switch from guerrillas to cats

Here's some lovely work for Ikea from Mother. Every shot is clearly Ikea, yet it's all far more elegant than than preceeding work.

The Swedish giant has scrapped its quirky guerilla kitchen makeover adverts in favour of a new approach involving filming 100 cats making themselves at home inside a superstore.

Mother, which has developed the new tagline "Happy Inside", has taken a completely different approach with a stylishly shot ad featuring 100 cats making themselves at home in Ikea's Wembley branch.

"The idea behind the work is that cats know better than anything what makes them feel happy inside, they live their lives in pursuit of their own comfort," said Feh Tarty, creative director at Mother. "So we released a hundred cats in to the Ikea Wembley store, for real, to see where they went and what furniture made them happy."

Ikea's TV campaign is part of a wider marketing push to launch the Swedish retailer's 2011 catalogue, which will include press advertising, in-store media and a Facebook page, developed by the communications agency Cake, and a "making of" video.

Show the world your real face. On Sept. 18th, turn off your mobile device and get some real facetime

Click, send, call, text, Like, tweet, undo, reset, delete… it never ends. Which is why two marketing guys are dubbing September 18 “No Device Day” for consumers who might be too involved with their gadgets.

Mark DiMassimo, of ad firm Digo, and Eric Yaverbaum didn’t randomly choose September 18th for the latest installment of the larger Offlining ad campaign, though. It’s also Yom Kippur, considered by many Jews to be the holiest day of the year. On this day, also known as the Day of Atonement, observant Jews disengage from things like playing on their BlackBerrys, as well as other daily activities like writing, playing instruments, and even eating. To read more click here.

It's a good idea but sorry guys, it's been painfully executed.

Brilliant online ad idea

A very creative online ad for Ikea: when clicking the banner the user has to select an mp3 from his or her own computer to be played through the ad. Click here to view the ad and see what I mean...

Nike's latest 'write the future' ad featuring Robinho aired on TV for the first time last night as Brazil beat Chile 3-0. Another classic.
