Mary Portas is targeting fashion's 'invisible' market with a new clothing range designed for the over-40s, and Cinnamon Creative has created the web design and social media design for the collection, in partnership with House of Fraser.
You can see the designs here and you can purchase all clothes, shoes and accessories from August 18, from Mary at House of Fraser, 31 Oxford Street, London W1 or online at houseoffraser.com/maryportas

Latest work: Web design, email templates and social media for House of Fraser
Cinnamon Creative has completed work with House of Fraser on their new premium look website that launched last week. It focuses on content and strong user engagement with a web-based international style magazine.
House of Fraser’s Facebook Fangate and competition pages (including tabs for Rihanna and Mary Portas) were also designed by Cinnamon Creative, as well as 7 new email templates, and e-branding of their 'Recognition' loyalty and Business Incentives programmes.

ASOS launches an independent marketplace
Loving ASOS's innovative and bold idea to feature a Fashion Marketplace allowing smaller, independent designers to sell through their website.
The company said the "ASOS Marketplace" initiative - allowing small boutiques to sell their fashion products to ASOS customers - should boost traffic to the site and drive further sales"
ASOS Marketplace launched today along with another new feature, Fashion Finder - which allows customers to search for brands the company does not ordinarily sell.

Brilliant online ad idea
A very creative online ad for Ikea: when clicking the banner the user has to select an mp3 from his or her own computer to be played through the ad. Click here to view the ad and see what I mean...

New website for Paul Smith

One of my favourite fashion designer's, Paul Smith, has launched a new website.
The new site is both an e-commerce site and a brand showcase for the internationally renowned fashion business. (Smaller-scale online purchasing had already been available on the site since 2004, but it has now been ramped up). It's a simple, clean HTML interface with large, animated images and it results in a strong visual impact.
Paul Smith World is a section of the website which features creative and art projects by the designer. This will be refreshed on a regular basis to encourage users to return to the site.
The new site certainly offers an enhanced user experience and I imagine it will greatly drive online sales.

M&S website voted most user-friendly

According to a new Online High Street Report from web usability consultancy Webcredible, M&S has been voted the most user-friendly website of all UK high street brands.
It is a surprise result for M&S as its site only came ninth on the list last year. Meanwhile, WHSmith came joint second, whilst John Lewis maintained its place of third on the rankings.
The criteria used to evaluate the websites includes browsing, navigation, the checkout process , searching and product display pages.
Despite widespread improvements, there are some basic areas where retailers need to do better on, the report found.
Areas that could be improved include using the same form for logging on and registering, allowing customers to alter the number of products displayed on a page and changing the colour of visited links.

Here's my design for the flyer for my dad's forthcoming gig in October. It's at a very cool venue - Hugo's in Queen's Park - and it should be a really entertaining night.

Marks & Spencer

As a freelancer, when not working from home on my private client projects, I am often contracted to work in the design studios of Advertising or Design agencies, in central London.
Right now, I am doing something completely different, working in-house at Marks & Spencer head office at their new premises in Paddington Basin - working as part of the e-commerce design team. It is a beautiful office environment but I am not used to working within such a corporate environment.
It's altogether another experience but that's what I like about freelancing - the variety of work, and constant change of pace, environment and work.
Above are a couple of my M&S creations since I began working on the site graphics last week.
