Here's a nice little campaign for a graphic design school. I love hand drawn type - particularly depictions of familiar typefaces - and the Comic Sans repetition is worth a small chuckle to get your day going.

I shot the serif, I did not shoot the Sans Serif iPhone App launched

This game and app should come with a warning, as anyone with a healthy interest in type will be hooked in a few seconds - no clients will get work and the creative industry will be on it's knees within weeks.
Be careful, but give it a go.
Not to be played without supervision of at least one other type aware adult, preferably not the one that pays your wages.
Enjoy!
Try it on their site, or search the app store.

An amusing response to it's critics' from Comic Sans font...
I'M COMIC SANS, ASSHOLE by Mike Lacher
"Listen up. I know the shit you've been saying behind my back. You think I'm stupid. You think I'm immature. You think I'm a malformed, pathetic excuse for a font. Well think again, nerdhole, because I'm Comic Sans, and I'm the best thing to happen to typography since Johannes fucking Gutenberg.
You don't like that your coworker used me on that note about stealing her yogurt from the break room fridge? You don't like that I'm all over your sister-in-law's blog? You don't like that I'm on the sign for that new Thai place? You think I'm pedestrian and tacky? Guess the fuck what, Picasso. We don't all have seventy-three weights of stick-up-my-ass Helvetica sitting on our seventeen-inch MacBook Pros. Sorry the entire world can't all be done in stark Eurotrash Swiss type. Sorry some people like to have fun. Sorry I'm standing in the way of your minimalist Bauhaus-esque fascist snoozefest. Maybe sometime you should take off your black turtleneck, stop compulsively adjusting your Tumblr theme, and lighten the fuck up for once.
People love me. Why? Because I'm fun. I'm the life of the party. I bring levity to any situation. Need to soften the blow of a harsh message about restroom etiquette? SLAM. There I am. Need to spice up the directions to your graduation party? WHAM. There again. Need to convey your fun-loving, approachable nature on your business' website? SMACK. Like daffodils in motherfucking spring.
When people need to kick back, have fun, and party, I will be there, unlike your pathetic fonts. While Gotham is at the science fair, I'm banging the prom queen behind the woodshop. While Avenir is practicing the clarinet, I'm shredding "Reign In Blood" on my double-necked Stratocaster. While Univers is refilling his allergy prescriptions, I'm racing my tricked-out, nitrous-laden Honda Civic against Tokyo gangsters who'll kill me if I don't cross the finish line first. I am a sans serif Superman and my only kryptonite is pretentious buzzkills like you.
It doesn't even matter what you think. You know why, jagoff? Cause I'm famous. I am on every major operating system since Microsoft fucking Bob. I'm in your signs. I'm in your browsers. I'm in your instant messengers. I'm not just a font. I am a force of motherfucking nature and I will not rest until every uptight armchair typographer cock-hat like you is surrounded by my lovable, comic-book inspired, sans-serif badassery.
Enough of this bullshit. I'm gonna go get hammered with Papyrus."

Moshik Hebrew Typeface by Moshik Nadav
Being half Israeli, from time to time I work on certain projects for friends and family that require hebrew typography and I'm afraid to say that there aren't that many beautiful hebrew typefaces around. So I was really pleased to stumble upon Moshik Nadav's typeface design here. I look forward to buying it in July 2011, Moshik.
Meantime does anyone else know of any other stylish Hebrew typefaces?

Google Web Fonts
Exciting news for any web designers / developers, Google have announced an open source font directory and font API offering a range of fonts that are available to use on any website. The fonts are hosted on google servers and all you need to do to use them on your own site is embed a simple link tag referencing the font you want to use. It couldn't be simpler and means that there's no complicated font-embedding and that you have 18 new fonts to play with, that really aren't half bad.

Midnight font buying

Checking my emails, after a friend left my place, post dinner at mine, I felt inspired by a font e-newsletter. I've always been attracted to these types of elegant distressed fonts having seen them used in some fashion advertising, music packaging and on one or two book covers, and I decided to buy 'Heathen'
I guess I've got a family wedding invitation commission rattling around in my mind, and I think this typeface could look uber-stylish, but I have a feeling it will not be to the couple's taste at all... !
It's a little edgy but I envisage it looking fabulous with the right production techniques.
It's elegance gone ancient, old thoughts in a modern packaging.
Can't wait to use it for the right project.. I have a feeling it won't be for this wedding invitation though...
