Scrabulous has been reincarnated as Lexulous

So one of my lovemarks, Scrabulous, has already been axed...

First it was removed from Facebook but I managed to overcome the situation by continuing games with my two deadliest opponents via email Scrabulous.

Then, without prior notice, a week ago the website came down and was replaced with a GoDaddy.com placeholder page, as a result of the ruling by Delhi High Court. It was ruled that the Agarwalla brothers retain the right to post their word game online, but are not allowed to use Scrabulous, Scrabble or any other “similar sounding” name.

So now we have www.lexulous.com, that is exactly like that game we won’t ever mention in the same breath.

Oh the joy!

I have to say though, I think the new site could do with a bit of a design spruce-up... it's looking a little uninspiring. I hope those brothers know where to come for some design direction!

I followed the e-mail game link and it didn't work...

Yeah, so did I. Is the email game link working for you?

Hi Lisa

No sadly it's not.

Their site appears to be under construction, as many of the links do not work so I'm hoping that sooner rather than later a the email link will appear. The court order only made them change the name, and not any aspect of the game, so I'm assuming they will include all the features of Scrabulous, namely email games.

Email Lexulous is now working perfectly. Hurrah!

Email link was working and I was able to retrieve unfinished games from scrabulous and started new games. Opponent played her turn and now can't get back to the lexulous site at all.

Hi anonymous, is that still the case? Try restarting your computer or accessing Lexulous from a different computer and see what happens.

There doesn't seem to be any more teething problems as far as I can see.. all seems to be working perfectly.

Let me know how you get on.

Now they've gone and changed the board layout. Sigh. This may be a deal-killer.

I know... it's horribly infuriating... so much so that I haven't let myself play another move on this new layout... I was in the middle of 3 good games and now this! Too much.... let's hope the scrabble board comes back soon.

What the heck happened to the Lexulous site?
Is anyone else having trouble opening it up?

It's a nightmare... I am back to playing Mattel's online Scrabble on facebook for now. It's a poor substitute.

Come back soon Lexulous / Scrabulous. Please don't Rest in Peace!
