Cute pantone chip cookies

I love the Pantone craze, but this is a little extreme... I do love the thought and attention that's gone into them though. Inspired by a Pantone tin, freelance designer and illustrator, Kim Neill. created these cookies using her collection of Pantone chips and worked with Royal icing to create the exact colours, even using luster dust to create metallic “chip” cookies. Once the icing set, she used an edible marker to add the Pantone numbers and Bob's your uncle! These would make lovely client gifts.

I shot the serif, I did not shoot the Sans Serif iPhone App launched

This game and app should come with a warning, as anyone with a healthy interest in type will be hooked in a few seconds - no clients will get work and the creative industry will be on it's knees within weeks.

Be careful, but give it a go.

Not to be played without supervision of at least one other type aware adult, preferably not the one that pays your wages.

Enjoy!

Try it on their site, or search the app store.

Are you Fabio or Fabulous?

We've just designed the artwork for fashion retailer, New Look's, 'FABIO OR FABULOUS', fun new Facebook promo for the World Cup.

New Look is asking its 150,000 Facebook fans whether their allegiances lie with football or fashion, and depending on their choice they can download and wear a mask of either England football manager Fabio Capello or US Vogue Editor Anna Wintour.

Fans then upload pictures of themselves wearing their masks to New Look's Facebook page, and then the best, silliest or most fun will win prizes and gift cards weekly throughout the World Cup season.

More info on the fun here, and if you want to get going and pick allegiances yourself, you can click on the links below to print off your cutout and keep mask!

For Fabulous Anna Wintour: http://bit.ly/9K3GSe

Layer Tennis

Layer Tennis is a series of live design events on Friday afternoons presented by Adobe Creative Suite 4.

Two competitors swap a file back and forth in real-time, adding to and embellishing the work. Each artist gets fifteen minutes to complete a "volley" and then we post that to the site live.

The players may be designers, animators, illustrators or pretty much anything else, and they can use any tool or application they like. The match progresses volley by volley.

A third participant, a writer, provides play-by-play commentary on the action as it happens.

The match lasts for ten volleys and when it's complete, opinioned Season Ticket Holders sound off and we declare a winner. Check Tennis HQ for more information and links to past matches.

Nice new site: SketchSwap is a web based drawing board where you can draw something on the screen and receive a random drawing back in return.

Make sure you have your wacom at the ready if you want to be top of the tree.

Obamicon Me

Yes you can!

(Obama-ize yourself that is). Make your own "Obamicon" (your image in a style inspired by Shepard Fairey's iconic poster) over on Obamicon.Me.

Thanks to Holster for the link.

More funny-because-they-are-true-isms

Web Without Sense is a gallery of common place website design/layout/marketing/general annoyances on the Internet. Equally, it is a bit of a sarcastic dialogue aimed to get a message across while being frank and outward. Check it out.
